Programme suggestion

Day 1: Arrival (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday or Friday), welcome drink and 'Badisch' festive menu at the three-star hotel 'Landgasthof Schwanen' in Kehl-Kork

Day. 2: After a lush breakfast you can explore the fascinating town of Strasbourg, one of two neighbouring towns with Kehl being the other. The historic town centre of Europe's capitol can be reached from our hotel within 20 minutes by train. The picturesque old town can be explored by foot or with a boat trip on the canals of the Ill river. In the evening, we will pamper you with an Alsace-type dinner in the hotel.

Day 3: After breakfast, you can travel comfortably by train to the town centre of Kehl. There you can explore the historic old town or the shopping miles at your leisure, strolling relaxed across the Passerelle des deux Rives - a pedestrian bridge spanning over the Rhine river - over to the French site of the former state horticultural show grounds of 2004.
Furthermore you will have the opportunity to visit the only theme park in Europe that is all about building and living culture - the World of Living exhibition in Rheinau-Linx, only 7 kilometres from the hotel 'Landgasthof Schwanen'.

After that, you are most welcome to extend your stay with us because there's much more to discover. Should you decide to leave then we would like to wish you a pleasant journey home!

Tips for a longer stay

Spend the day in Germany's largest amusement park. The 'Europa-Park' located in Rust can be reached by car in approx. 20 minutes.

Embedded in the beautiful Kinzigtal valley lies the historic town of Gengenbach; there you can discover the open air museum 'Vogtsbauernhof', the glass blowing workshop 'Dorotheenhütte', the world's biggest cuckoo clock, the highest waterfalls in Germany and much more.

Alternatively, you take a hiking trip through the wine-growing region of Ortenau to participate in wine-tasting provided by wine-making cooperatives in villages such as Durbach, Oberkirch or Zell-Weierbach, or have a wine-tasting experience on one of the private wine-growing estates.

Beyond the hills of Ortenau, the world-famous spa town of Baden-Baden as well as the towns of Karlsruhe and Freiburg im Breisgau await your visit, inviting you to sightseeing and window-shopping.  Furthermore, the wine-growing regions of Kaiserstuhl and Markgräflerland are in close proximity, just like the Alsace wine route on the other side of the Rhine river, featuring such wonderful villages like Riquewihr und Colmar.
